At Bertram Bullet Co, we are committed to deliver high-quality products. This column outlines the long stages we employ to ensure every brass cases and bullets are produced with precision and efficiency.
1. Product Design and Material Selection
Every successful product begins with a carefully thought-out design and material selection process.
In our case, brass cups are the core material used in our manufacturing process.
2. Material Procurement: Sourcing Quality Brass
Brass cups are sourced from trusted suppliers who meet our quality standards.

3. Production Planning and Workforce Allocation
Our director, Bruce Bertram is the maestro behind our effective Production Planning.
His Workforce Allocation plays a critical role in this phase, with skilled machine operators,
technicians, and quality control staff all working to meet production targets. Every member of our team is assigned tasks based on their expertise, allowing us to optimize workflow and reduce downtime.
4. Manufacturing Execution: A Precise and Detailed Process
Once all planning is in place, we begin the Manufacturing Execution phase. This is where the brass cups are transformed into finished products through a meticulous series of operations:

• Cups: The process begins with the brass cups as our raw material, ready for forming and shaping.
• 1st to 4th Draw: The brass cups go through a series of drawing operations, where the
material is stretched and reshaped to achieve the desired dimensions and thickness.
• Trim: The edges of the cups are trimmed into the correct length.
• Headstamp: A detailed headstamp is applied, marking the product with it’s correct name.
• Making Flash Hole: A flash hole is created.
• Necking Operation: The necking process forms the neck of the product sometimes single
taper and some other time multi-taper.
• Head & Mouth Turn: Precision turning operations are performed to shape the head and
mouth.
• Annealing: The final stage of the forming process involves annealing, a heat treatment
procedure that softens the material, improving its workability and strength.
5. Pressure Testing and Quality Checks: Ensuring Reliability
Before products are released, Pressure Testing and Quality Checks are conducted. Our dedicated
quality control master, David Bertram, inspects each product to verify its compliance with standards
requirements. Only after passing these checks is the product deemed ready for packing and delivery.
6. Commitment to Innovation: Evolving Every Year

Our manufacturing process is highly time-intensive, however as Australia’s leading producer of
cartridge cases and bullets, we continually expand our product range to meet the needs of our
customers worldwide and introduce new products almost every year.
Operating in such a unique field, we occasionally receive customer feedback regarding cost sensitive products, we face the additional challenge of operating within Australia’s high wage environment.
Despite these pressures, we are committed to maintaining our presence in the market
and to serve a growing and diverse global clientele.
